Is there a way to keep the mat showing while it is cutting with v. 3? I thought there was a way in the previous versions, but
haven't been able to find it.

I don't have SCAL3, but in 2 you have to select "Preferences" then select "Cutter." There's a check box for it.
SCAL1, SCAL2 V2.044, SCAL3. SCAL4 XPsp3, Windows 7, Windows 10-64 bit, Ink.46, Cricut E, Silhouette Cameo
