Use SCAL to Design/Sketch Your Project

Post by inlovewithabug »

I recently discovered how to use SCAL to design my layouts and I absolutely love it!!! I do all of the design work for shadow boxes and scrapbook pages in SCAL. I love that I don't have to re-cut SVGs because I didn't like the color or the size was wrong for my layout. Attached is a picture of one of my layouts designed in SCAL. I have posted tips with instructions on my blog at http://inlovewithabug.blogspot.com/2011 ... s-lot.html. Please stop by my blog if you are interested. Thanks and happy designing!

Such a great idea! I went to your blog to see how you did it so I can try it on my next scrapbook page. But I can see this really helping me when I make cards (I'm a beginner).

I am terrible at cards. I never thought about laying it out on the computer first. Thanks for the idea!

Thanks for the comments! I am so glad I was able to share something useful. I have designed my cards in SCAL too and it works great! I love SCAL and truly think the possibilities are endless with this software, aren't they? :)

Will hop over to your blog also. This is a very nice use of SCAL. I'm not a real visual person, so being able to lay out before cutting would be a great help.

Very cool! Like to think about sizing my elements and mats to work with photos ahead of time.

Also, Todd, there is a site I enjoy for cardmaking called "www.splitcoaststampers.com". They have a gallery where you can look at people's cards to get ideas.
