Disc or download?

Hello everyone!

I just bought a cricut expression, in fact it has not even got here yet. I have read a ton about scal and I will for sure be purchasing it. My question is is it better to buy the disc or just buy the download? Does it really make a difference?

I would just buy the download. You can always burn your own disc if you want for less than you will pay to have one shipped to you. Plus Craft Edge is always adding new features to the program, so any disc you buy is likely to become outdated. HTH

Yes do the download, but I recommend that you don't delete the "downloaded version" from your download folder...things happen and it is much easier to reinstall from the original download than to go get it again. I keep at least one past version just in case I want to go back.

Should I wait until I get my machine to download scal? It will probably be here a week from tomorrow.

No don't wait. You can start playing/learning it will make the time go faster and you'll be ready when it get there

I agree with the download version. I got mine on disc and have never used the disc since the first time installing. Def buy now so you can be ready to go with all of your projects as soon as you get your circut. I would start searching the forums and saving svgs and scut files that you think you might use. Trust me, there are thousands that you can get for free!

i just download it and love it but cant get it download my files it wants to know what program i want to run it to display my files i wish they had a rtelephone support for dummies like me that are up to downloading a program

You can not open scut files unless you have scal open and do it from the File drop down at the top in scal.

If you don't have inkscape you can not open .svg files unless you have the scal program open and use the SVG button at the top.

I can not think why else there would be a problem. When you download a file from the internet you just save it to a folder on your computer or to the desktop initially so you can find it easily.

Is your cricut firmware up to date? On craftedge homepage, please read all the info to get started, plus tutorial section.
Should you continue to have problems you can email support@craftedge.com and they will get back to you quite quickly. Give them as much information as you can think of relating to your computer and what is happening.
