Paper tearing

I need some help I was trying to cut some flowers with my Cricut using the SCAL program but for some reasons the paper is tearing and the flowers are cutting up jacked up can someone please explain to me what I am doing wrong. I thought it was my blade so I put in a new one but that is not it. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried lowering your blade setting and pressure setting... Your paper may be too fine if you have your pressure and blade set too high... Try lowering them..

What kind of paper are you cutting and at what settings?
