Hi Theresa,

Is the mat hanging over the edge of the table? One time when I noticed the blade dragging, the mat was flexing as it moved through the machine because the machine was on the edge of the table and there was no support under the end of the mat (I think it might have been a lighter paper too). I didn't have room to move the cricut, so I used my hand under the mat, and no more blade dragging. HTH

a couple of things.
What pressure is your cricut machine set on and also what number is the blade set on?
Also sometimes when I cut paper a bit of paper gets caught by the blade int he housing unit and so that shreds everything else. To clear it I take the blade and housing out of the machine and just push the top of the housing piece that will push the blade down and just check there is nothing caught around the blade.

i had the same problem, even after i put in a new blade!
After i reset the cricut (i think its in the manual or you can google it) it worked perfect again!
