I downloaded a free font organizer called AMP viewer and all my dings and ttfs show up there with name and very good graphics to see what they should look like. You can even change the size of the font. Then I look through the files and decide on which font I want then in Inkscape I look for that font name. Please note not all ttfs will show up in inkscape, most do.

Now you've got me playing in with a whole new program. What fun! That's just what I needed. Thanks again. You should consider creating a tutorial. I didn't think I'd ever be able to figure out how to do anything in inkscape, but your instructions have got me going!
