SCAL 2 Layers?? Has anyone done a tut yet.

I want to play with layers and can't figure out how to use them yet. By any chance has anyone put together a tutorial on layers? There are a couple of you out there who have taught me so much through your Youtube tutorials!! Thank you!!! I want to try using different color vinyl on a project and need layers for it. For example I want a black cat with yellow eyes. I was gonna trace the cat, then crop the eye in my file, trace it and use a layer to size the eye to the cat so its not too big or too small-does that make sense?

You can either create a layered svg, or trace the image in SCAL2 if it is simple enough. I have a tut on my blog about making layered svg files here and using them in SCAL2 here.
I also have a tut on the basic trace settings in SCAL2 here.
If you want to edit a trace made in SCAL2, make sure you check the "break apart outlines" in the trace dialog. That will put each distinct part into its own layer. HTH
