I also believe that some of the tiles have a light glaze on them that makes them harder to transfer. I bought some 6x6s at HD, and they don't want to grab the vinyl too well. I do burnish when picking the vinyl up, and when putting it on the tile. I use a credit card, and/or a lg craft stick. (wooden)
I got my transfer tape on Ebay. I got a huge roll. Not sure of the brand.
It makes an enormous difference!
Any brand should work well, as long as it is a medium tack.
