Okay guys.
We all are getting way out of hand here. All of us are in a wonderful and exciting hobby of scrapbooking (or cardmaking). We enjoy what we do and we LOVE our Cricuts. SCA was an outstanding addition to our craft library and I cannot tell you how much I enjoy it. I too came from the Cricut board and I do not agree with everything they say about SCA or anything else But REALLY.
WE MUST BE KIND AND GROWNUP ABOUT THIS WHOLE THING. We are all entitled to our own opionon. Come on guys, if you really up in air about what they are saying then keep yourself above it. Okay.
WOW! Why are people so freaked about SCA over at Cricut?

Welcome to the board Trish.
We now have the most wonderful and funniest lady here.
Go get the software, you will love it because is so much easier than CraftRobo.

I just purchased SCA and so far love it. I don't see how using this with our cricut is any different than using dies made by other companies with our Cuttlebugs, and PC gives us the "recipe" on how to do that.

I just wanted to say that I love my Cricut, my Cartridges, my Cricut Design Studio and now my Sure Cuts A Lot. I cannot see scrapbooking without any of them and I really do hope we are able to continue using them. They are all huge assets to my scrapbook hobby. I also wanted to say that since I downloaded my Sure Cuts A Lot software, all of my friends who had not bought a Cricut, are seriously thinking about purchasing one now that they have heard they can use their own fonts. Most of them have the Wishblade but still find it not to be as user friendly as the Cricut. So I beleive that Cricut will sell a lot more machines once people hear about this awesome new software that has been developed. So everyone get out there and spread the word and lets show PC how essential this software is for their business. The 2 companys would do well to work together in my opinion.

This is like me. I have been planning on getting a CraftRobo for a couple of years, but when the Cricut was available for $119 in December, I couldn't resist. I bought it, telling myself that it was worth it just for the shapes, but when I heard about SCA, I hit the roof. Finally, I have the luxury of an inexpensive machine that will cut whatever I want and I can use it away from the computer! The SCA gives me the easy option of cutting fonts and dings and on those days when I feel adventurous, I can use the CR and Inkscape software to create anything. It's a great combination and I am really happy about it. I am perfectly happy with the Cricut/SCA combo.all of my friends who had not bought a Cricut, are seriously thinking about purchasing one now that they have heard they can use their own fonts.

I have to agree with above post. I never even considered a cricut till the infomercial came on about a month ago. Then when I looked into it and realized how expensive cartridges are I dismissed the idea quickly. But then I found out about SCA and decided to go ahead and buy the cricut. Now I never plan to buy cartridges, but if it weren't for SCA I never would have bought a cricut or all the tools and mats to go with it.
Re: WOW! Why are people so freaked about SCA over at Cricut?
Provo Craft sent out an "Important Notice" about using third party software with the Cricut in the March 17th newsletter. They have the usual "it will void your warranty" threat and they added third party software "can put at risk the stability and usability of the machine itself". Well that is pretty scary stuff to those who buy into this nonsense.
I wouldn't worry about Provo Craft doing anything to anyone's Cricut through an update, if they did anything to cause it to malfunction they would lose too much business.

Maybe if PC kept their word about being able to hook your computer up to the Cricut and use fonts, they wouldn't be in this predicament... I was told (by PC) that we would be able to use our own fonts with the Cricut, like we are with the sca, and they never came through. They screwed up. Thanks Todd for this program. It rocks!
Re: WOW! Why are people so freaked about SCA over at Cricut?
There are comments floating around the DSS forum (PC's mb) that people are doing the software update and now are finding their .cut files are giving the "file corrupted" error messages....... Hopefully this is 'user error' and not a software glitch - I wouldn't wish corrupted file errors on anyone!

I'm still going to buy carts to use even with SCA because I love having thousands of shapes at my fingertips without my computer. I don't see a problem with using both programs as they were intended and just getting the max use out of my machine because Todd is brill! LOL
