Post by scrappy_happy_moms »

Hi girls again lol

I have tried to weld and it looks like it would weld but when I go to cut it it still cuts the letters separate. I'm doing this on the new scal. I'm just not sure what I am doin wrong.

Do you have the Weld box checked? The Weld box is in Shape Properties.

I had to click on and weld each letter separately, not as one big word.

Do they look connected on the Preview (Cutter>Preview)?

I will try to cut a welded word in SCAL. I have played with the program's welding, shadowing and blackout feature but haven't actually cut anything. I always design using Inkscape and only cut in SCAL.

I didn't click weld for each letter and could weld just fine. What I did is type my word, or even phrase, move each letter into position where I wanted it, then make the whole box active - click in the word or phrase to get the box around all letters. While the box is active, I checked the weld checkbox. You can tell how well the weld took by clicking on the magnifying glass. Welds will happen where the overlap lines are grayed out.

I had no problem with the shape welding. Are you sure you check the weld box? If doing the letters separate, you have to check weld for each letter...if one box, you only need to check weld once.

Have attached a preview to show what a welded preview
