arrrggg does anyone have the older design studio trial???

my replacement cricut has the firmware version v1.32 and i need the older firmware. i still can't get my cricut to work with my computer and scal. i'm not sure how they can get your cricut to know you have scal installed even if it's not open, but i'm not sure what else could be going on. i've been working with someone from support but even they don't know what else to try. i installed drivers, updated them made sure the com port was at 4 etc etc etc. i am so frustrated at this point i don't know what to do. can anyone help me??? the support person thinks if i use the old firmware install on the cricut it might work, but the link they sent me a few weeks ago is not valid any longer. provocraft is really working hard to make us not be able to use scal and it's really making me mad! after all the money i've invested in supplies and cartridges you'd think they'd love that we're using it all. anywhoooo if anyone has a link or any other ideas please help me!

The older design studio is on the DS cd. My hardrives gave out about a month ago and I installed the cd without the activation code and it worked like the trial version.

i was hoping to find a link so i could get it off the computer. wonder if anyone in western wa would let me use their cd just to upload the older trial with the older firmware i need

When I update a new firmware version of DS I save the .enc files from the current version (these are the firmware files). I still have the ones dated June 2008 which I could email you.
Then you just go into Programme files - Cricut - Design Studio - Firmware Releases and delete out the current .enc fikles there (assuming they are dated later than June 2008) and then replace them with my older ones.
I don't know if these are old enough for you but you could give it a try.
If so pm with an email address and I will send them.
Just do a back up of the .enc files you currently have before deleting them in case you need to put hem back, however running the latest update would refresh them anyway I would think.
