Help with SCAL - trial version

Post by shrobns »

I've downloaded the trial version and keep getting marks in what I print out, is this because its the trial version? Also what pressure should I have it on to cut vinyl and what speed.

hi there.. has anyone answered you yet?? I am new to scal and inkscape, but i do know that the trial will cut two lines straight thru any design you send to the cricket..
but at least you know if scal works or not.. i used the trial and "played" around for a week, then purchased it.. LOVE it... if you like "playing" around with diff fonts, clipart, then you will really like it.. I've been creating all kinds of neat things and I'm just staring..

The trial version cuts lines through your finished product because it is a trial. You will have to play with your pressure, but I have mine as high as it will go (5 I think) and I also have the blade setting as high as it will go (6 I think). The speed in SCAL (Edit -> Preferences) overides the speed dial on the machine and I keep mine at medium because higher speeds tends to rip the paper for me - at least on intricate cuts. HTH
