File disappears in v4

I just downloaded SCAL 4 on my mac and when I send a design to cut on my Pazzles Vue (I've tried .svg and .scut2), the file disappears from the mat and nothing happens. I have no problem at all with SCAL 3. My first thought is operator error but I can't figure it out.

After you open your file, try going to print preview and see if the lines show up. If so, then you may need to go into your colors and make sure there is color in your lines, and a fill color is you want that. I noticed with an upgrade that I had to change these things as well.

UGH !! This has happened to me all day whatever file I use & Im lost I have NO idea why its doing this! Someone...anyone...PLEASE help! I thank you so much in advance for any insight!

I sent a response to you, Im sorry but apparently that wasnt the fix for the problem Im having. Hope you can help! Thanks

Turns out that her file had nothing but open paths. The fix was select everything go to Path> Close Paths. Then we just merged it for simplicity (Object> Merge) with all the shapes selected.
