I was wondering if there was a good tutorial on using the trace image feature in SCAL 2. What type of files can you use and do I have to use Incscapes to convert?

I am looking for dingbats that are just a bunch of different frilly swirls or a small ivy or something I can use as a filler on a design I am making.

I have been working on a layout using Beach Type and every time I try and use the letter R in the shadow mode it folds or cuts it in half at an angle. If anybody has a solution for my problem I would greatly appreciate some help so I can finish my project.
