Craft Edge

I have no clue where I've gone wrong. I've installed the driver, my computer dings when I plug it in letting me know something's been plugged in. Once I select my image and hit cut, it basically freezes on checking mat. I'm being patient, and it's been over 10 minutes. What should I do? Thanks, this...

I just upgraded my cricut yesterday and SCAL 2 wont work with that version. How can I downgrade back to 1.3? Would a complete reset do anything? I'm so sad.
