Re: Contact Paper cut with success anyone?

Some members of other groups I am on use Duck Brand Shelf liner on their personal cutters. I have seen this at Lowe's, Ace Hardware and have heard it was purchased at Menards. I know they have a brush steele and a few other choices including a cork, but I haven't heard of anyone cutting the cork. Th...

Re: Double Lines

Something else I am curious about to.. I am noticing alot of files are filled. when creating a file for many other cutter files they have to be outline. If they are filled they won't work. However, in SCAL if they are filled it doesn't seem to matter. Is this a usual or just a quirk that they worked...

Re: Double Lines

I think it is definitely a worthy cause. I just thought I would take a peek to see what might be the issue to help out with knowledge of path vs stroke vs nodes vs points. And thought this might help some out. I think you are doing a great job! And I definitely know how time consuming it can all be....

Re: Double Lines

I actually opened one of the flourishes (horizontal 2) svgs in Illustrator and it in actuality was not an outline of the flourish. But a single line stroke with a thicker thickness then a line. So it was not a closed path. So when I imported the original file directly into SCAL no cutlines showed. U...

Re: Has anyone cut their design?

In Illustrator you can reduce or simplify to cut down on your nodes. I think you can do that in Inkscape. Most personal cutters have to stop at every node/point. When they do this it takes longer and can give you a jagged cut. Try to get as smooth a cut as you can by reducing as many nodes as possib...

Re: lace cardstock

This is a group of images welded or merged together. I have created many cutter files for these. I call them jumbles, some call them mesh, or some call them tangles. I create mine in illustrator, but it is a grouping of images that slightly overlap and then you merge/weld them together. The smaller ...

Re: Where can I buy vinyl??

I purchase mine from Sign Warehouse online. They have some narrower rolls made by Oracle or oracal.
Can't remember the spelling. Also, Paperthreads sells multipacks. I love to cut vinyl so I had to buy the rolls.

Enjoy!

Wider area off the cutting mat

For those files with multiple cuts that need to be resized together to keep them all fitting together. It would be nice to have more area around the cutting space to put the pieces you do not need to cut at that time. You can look at my download page for the SCAL to cut multiple layers to kinda see ...
