Re: Print & Cut using the Affinity Design Software and Scal5
Oddly enough, even though svg files aren't raster images, they have associated dpi. Adobe Illustrator uses one, Inkscape a different one, and I think Affinity Design a different one yet. I know that it's different from Inkscape because I designed a couple of sewing patterns in Inkscape and then prin...

Re: SVG with graphics Import Help Please
I don't have AI anymore either, but I use Inkscape to create all of my files. As long as images are embedded in the svg file they show up along with the vectors when I bring the file into SCAL/eCAL.

Re: Importing Inkscape SVG with filters into SCAL 4 Pro
There is actually a third option that will give you both the filters and your cutting lines in one file with correct alignment. In the Inkscape preferences make sure that the Bitmaps preferences is set to whatever dpi you prefer for images, then select all parts of your work that you want to turn in...

Re: Image Size for Print and Cut
Your best options are to either use Silhouette Studio or if your edges are all straight use a paper trimmer. The lack of adjustable registration marks in SCAL for the Cameo is why I never paid to upgrade to SCAL4. Silhouette Studio will allow you to adjust both the size and location of the registrat...

Re: Image Size for Print and Cut
You don't say what version of SCAL you have or what cutter, but it may be possible to move the registration marks. In eCAL1 and SCAL3 they are under Cutter/Cutter settings for some of the cutters. Also if your cutter uses manual alignment with dots inside crosshairs like the eClips then you don't ne...

Re: Own SCAL 2 and questions on newer versions....
You have to buy the Designer edition for the Silhouette Studio to use svg files. It doesn't change the feel of how the program works, just gives you a bit more capabilities. Personally, the Silhouette Studio program drives me crazy. It doesn't have functional layers. (Yes they are there, but only as...

I don't know why your software doesn't show that there is an update, but if you go to the Craft Edge website the most recent version is 4.063. http://craftedge.com/download/download.html Just download it direct and install it.

A new card
Here is one of my recent cards that I made. The digi was cut out using Inkscape and eCAL, then colored with Copic markers. The flowers were also cut using eCAL then stamped, inked, and shaped. More details are on my blog. https://imagesbyheatherm.wordpress.com/2017/07/08/butterfly-queen/ By the way,...

Re: need help with reg marks
I thought when I did a cut preview and it showed the crop marks inside the paper size I'm using It would print the crop marks. How close you can print to the edge of the page depends on your printer. If you want to print as close to the edge as possible you will need to find out your printers minim...

Re: need help with reg marks
I think you have an eClips? It's been a while since I've changed my settings, but I believe that the offset is from your cutlines. I've set mine as small as possible since I like to get as much as possible on my coloring cardstock. I also set mine up to print as close to the edge as possible, and as...
